Beverly Powder House
The Powder House was built in 1809 in response to an ordinance that prohibited residents from keeping more than 25 pounds of gunpowder. The structure is the only octagonal powder house extant in New England, with brick walls that measure four layers thick.
This project was located in a residential area and coordination with local traffic and pedestrians was part of the daily checklist. The scope of work for this project included sitework, masonry restoration, roofing work and restoration of doors and flooring.
