Ted Shawn Theatre
Located at the heart of Jacob’s Pillow’s campus, the 1942 Ted Shawn Theatre is the first theater in American de-signed specifically for dance. Renovation of the Ted Shawn Theatre brings the beloved performance space into the 21st century, while prioritizing the preservation of what made the theater so special for 70 years.
The scope included the demolition of the existing stage house and the addition of a new 13,000 SF (Approx.) stage house, including Basement and Mezzanine (Catwalk) levels, and installation of a new ventilation system, a new orchestra pit, a larger stage, upgraded electrical system, and enhanced accessibility for artists and audience members.
