University Center Tower Restoration
Full scaffolding access was provided for the work on this 177’ tower. The masonry restoration work consisted of installation of 1100 Syntec double sock anchors ranging in length from 3’ to 6’, 100% repointing, stitch rod instal-lation, in situ dutchman repairs, 100% chemical wash, and grout injection throughout. The stone spires top off at 137’, the 55’ wood framed roof steeple begins at 122’ above finished grade and tops off at 177’. Allegrone provided scaffold access for a full slate roof replacement performed by others. Logistics due to height access, building occupancy, and central campus location also added to the technical challenges of the project.
